Mountain weather can be variable and temperatures can change quickly…..we like to be ready for anything!  Cotton does not fair well in the rain, so we suggest synthetic fabrics that wick the moisture away from your skin and dry quickly.

Mountain Activities:

  • Raincoat
  • Rain pants or wind pants
  • Fleece coat or a warm wool sweater
  • Capilene or synthetic long sleeve underwear top
  • Capilene or synthetic long underwear bottom
  • A pair of loose fitting cotton or suplex pants
  • Comfortable hiking shorts
  • A long sleeve t-shirt
  • One or two synthetic t-shirts
  • A wool hat
  • A baseball cap or hat with a visor
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Camera and film
  • A small backpack large enough to carry water, extra clothing and snacks
  • Light weight hiking shoes – nothing too heavy or bulky here, if you have bad ankles bring a pair with ankle support, otherwise a low top is fine
